Hammonton Fig

After buying an old farm in 2020 we noticed a fig leaf coming out between vines running up an old maple tree. As we cut away the vines a fig tree appeared. The fig tree was about 10 feet tall and 15 feet wide, and is planted at the base of a very old and large maple tree. We immediately loved this tree and it treated us well with lots of figs. After talking to the former owners we learned this tree was planted long ago. The tree has been in the same spot for at least 3 generations before we owned the land. This land is surrounded by blueberry farms and grape vineyards and has been a raspberry/blackberry farm, melon farm, sweet potato farm and peach orchard. In a good year this tree produces over 500 deliciously sweet figs.
